What's new in Ember Mug 3?

Ember Mug 3 keeps everything you love about the Ember Mug and adds three big upgrades:

1. On-mug temperature control. Tap the button on the bottom of the mug to choose between five preset temperatures, no phone needed.
2. A new LED display. A row of small lights below the main status light shows your temperature setting and battery level at a glance.
3. Dishwasher safe. Ember Mug 3 is safe on the top rack of your dishwasher using a low temperature cycle. It is the first Ember Mug that doesn't require hand washing.

What sizes and colors are available?

Ember Mug 3 is available in 10 oz and 14 oz sizes. The 10 oz comes in Black and White. The 14 oz comes in Black, White, Sage Green, Sandstone, Salt Blue, Matcha Green, Lavender, and Powder Blue.

How much does it cost?

How do the preset temperatures work?

Tap the button on the bottom of your mug once to see your current setting. Each tap after that moves to the next preset. There are five presets: 125, 130, 135, 140, and 145 degrees Fahrenheit. Your mug comes set to 135 degrees out of the box.

Can I set a temperature that isn't one of the presets?

Yes. The Ember app lets you set any temperature in the supported range, exactly as before. The on-mug button uses the five presets, and the app gives you full control.

Can I change what the preset temperatures are?

The five presets are fixed and can't be customized right now. If custom presets matter to you, let us know at [email protected]. We track every request.

Do I need the app to use Mug 3?

No. Mug 3 works right out of the box and the button gives you full temperature control. The app adds extras like precise temperature control, custom LED color, battery details, and automatic firmware updates, so we still recommend pairing.

Does Mug 3 work with the current Ember app?

Yes. The current version of the Ember app supports Mug 3 from day one. Just make sure your app is up to date.

Is it really dishwasher safe?

Yes, with two rules: top rack only, and low temperature cycle only. The sliding lid can go in too, top rack. The charging coaster is not dishwasher safe and should never be immersed in water.

How long does the battery last?

On a full charge, Mug 3 keeps your drink at 135 degrees for about 80 minutes (14 oz) or 90 minutes (10 oz). For all-day use, keep your mug on the included charging coaster.
