The Cold Tumbler comes with a 2-way lid. Here is how the pieces fit together and what to expect from them.
Two ways to drink
- Sip: drink directly from the opening in the lid, the way you would from a coffee cup lid.
- Straw: drop the straw through the straw opening and sip from there.
You do not have to swap anything to switch between the two.
Where the seal is
The lid seals against the rim of the glass with a thin, semi-translucent rubber ring that sits inside the lid, just above the threads. On a lid that is assembled correctly, you will barely see it from the outside. That is by design.
If your lid leaks or does not seat
- Unscrew the lid and look inside near the threads. You should see the rubber seal sitting flat in its groove.
- If it is twisted, bunched, or has slipped down over the threads, lift it out and press it back into the groove so it lies flat all the way around.

What the lid is not
The 2-way lid is designed to keep splashes down while you carry the tumbler and sip. It is not leak proof. It will let liquid out if the tumbler is tipped over, laid on its side, or packed in a bag. The straw opening is always open, so even with the seal seated perfectly, a tumbler on its side will leak. This is how the lid is designed, not a defect.
The straw
The straw fits through a small rubber grommet in the lid. If the grommet pops out when you pull the straw, push it back into the lid from the top. Rinse the straw after each use and run a straw brush through it now and then.
