The Ember Travel mug display (located on the front of the mug, below the Ember Logo and above the temperature adjustment dial) is an LED-lit display that will let you know what your Ember is doing! It will show everything from the current temperature, to a customized and unique name you decide to give your mug (via the Ember app).
Below are the various displays that may be seen during normal use of the mug.
EMBER: Displayed as the default name seen when double tapping the touch logo (a custom name can be set through the Ember App)
BATTERY COOLING: Displayed to inform that the battery is at a high temperature. The battery temperature has risen above 140°F (60°C), but is less than 142°F (61°C).
BATTERY COOLING. POWERING OFF: Displayed to inform that the battery temperature has risen above 142°F (61°C) and the Ember is powering down as a safety precaution to protect the battery.

HELLO: Displayed when the Ember Mug is powering ON.
EMPTY: Displayed when the thermal sensors are not recognizing a change in temperature present in the inner vessel. This notification may also show if liquid is not present or the temperature rapidly decreases (caused by adding cold creamer).
COLD: Displayed when the mug detects that mug contains liquid, but the temperature of the liquid is less than 100°F and heating is not taking place. This notification may also show if the user manually sets the temp to COLD via the temperature dial or the mobile app.
OFF?: Displayed when a user presses or holds the touch logo for 3-4 seconds, awaiting confirmation to power OFF. To confirm powering OFF the Ember, tap the touch logo while ""OFF?"" to confirm powering OFF the mug.
GOOD BYE: Displayed while the Ember is powering OFF.
PLEASE WAIT: After a successful Mug update, this notification will be be displayed as your Ember creates a backup of this firmware in the mugs external memory.
PAIR: Displayed when the Ember is in pairing mode for a connection with the Ember mobile application. To enter to pairing mode, first power OFF the mug. Once powered down, press and hold the touch logo for 7-10 seconds until ""PAIR"" appears on the display.
UPDATING: Displayed when the Ember is processing a firmware update through the Ember mobile application.
ERROR: If the Ember displays "ERROR", a processing error has occurred. This is likely a result from an internal hardware problem, please reach out to us if this happens!
RESET: When the reset button (accessed via the pinhole on the bottom of the mug) is pressed and held for 10 seconds, this will be displayed as all stored data and paired devices are removed from the mugs memory.
Battery icon (with animation): While the mug is resting on the plugged in charging coaster, the Ember will display the current charge level and is an indication that the Ember is charging.
Battery icon (without animation): The current battery level of the Ember. The user can display the battery icon by tapping the Ember logo 3 times.
Battery icon outline: An Empty battery icon will be displayed when the current battery level is <10%. In this state once battery level reaches 5% or less, the heaters are automatically disabled. When battery level drops to 1% the mug will automatically turn off. When powering on of the Ember is attempted in this state, the mug will display the battery outline for a moment and then turn off again.
