How to Use the Temperature Controls and Lights on Ember Tumbler 2Updated a day ago

Tumbler 2 lets you set your temperature right on the tumbler, no phone needed. You can also use the Ember app for full control. Either one works, and the app is optional.

Setting your temperature on the tumbler

Press the button on the bottom of your Tumbler 2 to choose one of five preset temperatures:

• One click: 125°F (52.5°C)
• Two clicks: 130°F (55°C)
• Three clicks: 135°F (57.5°C)
• Four clicks: 140°F (60°C)
• Five clicks: 145°F (62.5°C)

Tap the button once to see your current setting. Each tap after that moves to the next preset, and after 145°F it starts again at 125°F. Your Tumbler 2 comes set to 135°F out of the box.

Setting your temperature in the Ember app

Pair Tumbler 2 with the Ember app to set any temperature from 120°F to 145°F (49°C to 63°C). If your app setting falls between two presets, the small lights on your tumbler show the closest preset, but your exact app temperature stays active.

What the lights mean

The small lights: after you tap the button, the number of lights shows your temperature setting, from one light (125°F) to five lights (145°F). While Tumbler 2 is charging on the coaster, the small lights show your battery level. Each light is about 20 percent.

The main light:

• Pulsing white: heating up to your temperature
• Solid white: your drink is at your temperature
• Solid green: fully charged (the small lights turn off when charging is complete, which is normal)
• Solid red: battery is empty, place Tumbler 2 on the coaster
• Blinking blue: ready to pair with the app
• Blinking yellow: factory reset

Turning Tumbler 2 on and off, pairing, and resetting

• Turn on or check your setting: tap the button once.
• Turn off: press and hold the button for 2 seconds.
• Pair with the Ember app: press and hold for 5 seconds, until the light blinks blue.
• Factory reset: press and hold for 7 seconds, until the light blinks yellow.

Getting the most from your battery

Tumbler 2 keeps your drink at your chosen temperature for 3+ hours with the lid on. A few tips:

1. Keep a lid on. Battery life is rated with the lid on.
2. Start with a drink that's already hot. Tumbler 2 is designed to keep your drink hot, not to heat a cool drink up from scratch.
3. Choose a lower preset if you can. Holding a higher temperature uses more battery.
4. Recharge on the coaster between trips.
